The Winford Hotel and Casino in Manila said it had explored other avenues to generate revenue in August – including a food delivery service dubbed “Winford on Wheels” in order to raise revenues amid a closure of its gaming floor.
The company, which runs a total of 30 gaming tables and 527 slot machines, saw its overall gaming volume for the first six months of 2020 decrease by 45.9 percent as a result of the community lockdown in place since March 2020.
Revenue from its hotel operations, along with F&B, bingo and others also fell significantly in the half year period.
The company’s marketing strategy from March has been around promotions, tournaments and events, membership drives and VIP player offers.
MJC said over the remainder of 2020, it plans to partner with airline companies, create digital marketing campaigns, virtual events, website optimization, medical tourism, presence in online booking campaigns of online travel agents, seasonal & bundled packages, and tie-ups with companies with established membership databases.
The company has also been busy revamping its gaming floor for the “new normal,” including expansion of the gaming area and utilisation of its third floor to fit more slot machines.
